Becky Essay
The story “Becky and the Wheels-and-Brake Boys” was written by James Berry. It tells of a girl named Becky who really wants a bike but can’t get one until the end of the story. Becky is a credible character because of what she feels, says, and does.

She is credible because she wants to fit in. For example, “Can somebody teach me to ride?” They all have bikes, and she wants one too, so she can ride and play with them. This proves that she is a credible character because she wants to fit in and most children want to fit in. Most children want to belong in a crowd and have friends.

Becky is credible because she keeps begging her mom to get her a bike. A good example is “Over and over I told my mom that I wanted a bike.” This quote makes her credible because she begs a lot. Almost every kid begs their mom to get them stuff.

My final reason that she is credible is when she fought with her friend. For example “For the first time me and Shirnette had a real fight, because of what I hated most.” “Shirnette wanted to get at Becky because Becky wanted to get back at Becky had put a centipede up her shirt so; she got even by putting a cockroach up in Becky’s blouse. This proves that Becky is a realistic character.

In conclusion, Becky, the main character in “Becky and the Wheels-and-Brake Boys”, is credible because of other emotions, her words, and her actions. That means that she is your average child.
